GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 2025

Gigi’s Playhouse Indianapolis was just getting started when we had Luke. Getting a diagnosis for your child is a scary and isolating thing and I really can’t explain the excitement we felt knowing there was a place that was for families just like us. Going to Gigis very quickly became going to our second home, where our newfound friends who “just got it” were. I loved watching Brooke play with other siblings and volunteers, I made friends that I now don’t know what I would do without.
Through the years we have met the very best people there are. The volunteers at Gigis are wonderful and beyond dedicated, the families are the strongest and most inspiring families out there-and the babies, children, and adults that have Down syndrome make me feel so very lucky to know them and get to be a part of their world. I would not get to experience this life in the same way without Luke and them.
While the LMNOP program will always have a special place in our hearts because of the many years of meeting friends there every Friday morning, we have participated in a lot of other great programs as well- literacy tutoring, bike camp, cooking camp, holiday events and (my favorite) Moms Night Out. We look forward to so many more as Luke gets older! These programs are not just your average activity hour or two. They are an opportunity for someone that that may not get the same opportunity elsewhere. Where everyone is welcome, valued, celebrated and accepted.
We love Gigis Playhouse and are so grateful for all that it’s given us. We would love for you to join us on August 24th to walk for inclusion, acceptance, learning and growth! If you are not able to join us in person and would like to donate, we thank you for helping a cause so very close to our hearts!
