GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 2023

What?

The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge is both an in-person and virtual event taking place across the country! All GiGi’s Playhouse locations host their very own Acceptance Challenge, consisting of a fitness-based challenge and fun-filled activities for the whole family.  

GiGi’s Playhouse Charlotte invites our GiGi’s families and community supporters to show your commitment to inclusion at our all ages/abilities GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge, FIELD DAY OF DREAMS, on March 25, 2023, 1pm!

Raise awareness and funds by signing up your Dream Team, inviting your peers to join your team! GiGi’s will match interested teams with Community Supporters to catapult your reach and fundraising impact on life-changing programs and acceptance initiatives, right here, at GiGi’s Playhouse Charlotte. Up to 10 lucky teams can win their GiGi’s participant a Larger-Than-Life “welcome window” photo to adorn our playhouse exterior!

When?
Between March 21st – June 25th, over 50 GiGi’s Playhouse locations from across the country will be hosting their very own GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge events!

GiGi’s Playhouse Charlotte’s campaign kicks off on March 1 and concludes on March 25, 2023 at our celebratory FIELD DAY OF DREAMS event. All ages and abilities will gather with our Greater Charlotte community in fun Field Day-themed fitness activities and games on the soccer field of Myers Park Traditional Elementary School (2132 Radcliffe Ave, Charlotte 28207).

Participating teams will have access to special opportunities during the month of March including a private Soccer Clinic with the Charlotte FC, tickets to the Hornets tip-off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 12, a dance performance at our playhouse by our friends at Inspire Inclusion, and much more!

Why?
The best way to grow acceptance comes first through exposure and interaction. People with disabilities are often segregated from their peers starting at an early age, and as life goes on, it tends to form a disconnect between those with disabilities and those without. The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge acts as a bridge that provides exposure, interaction, and ultimately understanding to reach our goal of acceptance and inclusion!

In Charlotte, our 2018 inaugural Field Day of Dreams campaign connected over 50 families with local community members, resulting in a wave of awareness, lifelong friendships and $191,000 in funds to support FREE educational, therapeutic and adult programming for our GiGi’s Playhouse Participants.
